Worthy: A Free Healthy Relationships Group for Burlington Teens

Worthy: A Free Healthy Relationships Group for Burlington Teens

Worthy is a free group series for teens at Eden Valley in Burlington, Vermont. It is a place to talk about relationships, communication and the future with a small group of peers and a clinician who is there to listen. This post covers who it is for, what happens, and how to sign up.

The basics

Worthy is offered by Eden Valley, the clinical program of Revolution Youth, Inc. Here is what to know.

  • Cost: free
  • Length: seven sessions
  • Group size: 10 to 15 students per cohort
  • Where: in person at Eden Valley, 95 College St, Burlington
  • Dates: now enrolling through September 2027. After you sign up, we email you to propose available dates.

Spots are first come, first served, so it helps to sign up early.

What students work on

The curriculum is a modified version of Love Notes 4.1, taught by instructors certified in an evidence-based curriculum. It focuses on communication, relationships, problem-solving, stress management and emotional regulation. In practice, the sessions are organized around four themes.

Emotional support and personal growth

Students talk about belonging, goal-setting and healthy relationships, with positive role models and mentorship.

Communication and relationships

The group covers emotional abuse and manipulation, communication challenges, friendships, and how to handle breakups. The aim is to help teens recognize what a healthy relationship looks like, and what it does not.

Living environment and health

Students plan for a safe, stable living situation and learn how to find health care and mental health services when they need them.

Life skills and planning

Decision-making, planning and everyday life skills round out the series, so students leave with a clearer picture of the future they want.

One past attendee described the group this way: "opened my eyes to healthy relationships."

Parents sometimes ask whether a group like this is "too much" for a teen. A good way to think about it is as practice. Learning how to say what you need, how to notice when something feels off, and who to turn to are skills, and skills improve with repetition and with people who are practicing alongside you.

How sign-up works

  1. Read the full group description and frequently asked questions on the Worthy page.
  2. Sign up through that page. Clayton, the group facilitator, will email you to propose available dates and answer any questions.
  3. Show up at Eden Valley for the in-person sessions.

Parents and caregivers are welcome to ask questions before a student joins. You can learn more about the facilitator on the Clayton Cameron page.

What a session may feel like

A group of 10 to 15 students is large enough to hear different perspectives and small enough that everyone can take part. The facilitator keeps the conversation structured, so students are not expected to perform or share more than they want to.

Worthy treats students as people who can learn skills, ask hard questions and make their own plans.

Is Worthy right for my teen?

Worthy suits students who want to talk about relationships, communication and the future in a structured, supportive setting. If you are unsure, ask. Clayton can answer questions about the content, the schedule and what to expect before a student commits to the seven sessions.

Is this therapy?

Worthy is a group workshop, not individual therapy. It is a structured series with a curriculum. If a teen would also benefit from one-on-one support, Eden Valley offers child and teen therapy, and you can read about it on our services page. You can also see our other workshops on the groups page.

This post is general information, not medical advice. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988.

School leaders: Worthy is also available for schools. See Worthy for Schools.
