Adolescent Counseling

Teens get a steady, judgment-free space to work on mood, anxiety, identity, friendships, school stress, and family conflict. We start with a focused assessment and set concrete goals the teen helps define. Treatment blends CBT/DBT skills (emotion regulation, distress tolerance, communication), behavioral activation, exposure for anxiety/OCD, motivational interviewing for ambivalence, and executive-function supports (planning, sleep, screens). Caregivers join through brief check-ins and periodic parent sessions to reduce unhelpful accommodation, set consistent limits, and support skills at home. When helpful, we coordinate with school around workload and accommodations. Progress is tracked with brief measures and functional wins—attendance, follow-through, fewer blowups, better friendships. Confidentiality is respected and its limits are clear (safety concerns are shared). If risk escalates, we quickly determine the right level of care. The aim: more stability, stronger coping, and a teen who trusts their ability to handle hard things.
