We provide rapid, structured support for workplaces, schools, and agencies after an unexpected tragedy. The first priority is stabilization: on-site or virtual Psychological First Aid to assess immediate risk, restore basic safety, offer practical coping tools, and set clear next steps. We also coach leaders on compassionate communication, short-term accommodations, and planning a return to routine without minimizing the loss. When appropriate, we can facilitate a CISD-informed group debrief using the Mitchell model. It’s voluntary, delivered by trained clinicians, and typically scheduled days—not hours—after the event. The focus is reducing acute distress, normalizing reactions, surfacing needs, and guiding follow-up. It is not an investigation and it is not mandatory therapy. We use it selectively, as one tool within a broader critical incident stress management approach. Deliverables include a same-day consult and schedule, an incident-specific plan (PFA actions, leader communications, short-term accommodations), an optional group debrief, individual check-ins and referral pathways, a written resource/safety plan, and leader guidance for the next 30 days. If risk escalates at any point, we coordinate higher levels of care immediately.
