Julia Garcia is a senior at the University of Vermont with a major in social work and a minor in political science. Originally from New Jersey, she spent this past summer in Burlington working with adults with developmental disabilities through community-based supports, an experience that strengthened her interest in direct service. Julia is passionate about expanding her knowledge in the field of social work and is interested in breaking down the stigma surrounding therapy and mental health. Julia believes that seeking support is a sign of strength, and she is eager to continue learning how social workers can play a role in making resources more accessible and inclusive. As a referral coordinator at Eden Valley Julia will provide case management and life skill development to enhance her skills.
